Our Story

Abraham Dia's family came to NZ in 1989 and his dad started Delicious Lebanese Snacks in 1993. They make a delicious range of Lebanese hummus, baba ganouj, falafel, taramasalata and tabouli. Delicious Lebanese Snacks started out just supplying to a few cafes and stores in Wellington but now supply to a large number of grocery stores around Wellington and as far north as Kapiti and Hastings.

Its sister company, Alamir Bakery was started in 2001 baking bread once a week for the Arab community in Wellington. They use a fully automactic Bramco Bakri bakery machine which was designed and built in Lebanon for the preparation of their Arabic pita bread. Both Delicious Lebanese Snacks and Alamir Bakery operate out of the same premises in Mirimar.

All their products (except the falafel, because it doesn't last long with fresh onions, parsley and coriander) are preservative free, made of natural ingredients and to traditional recipes. All food made at the bakery is cooked fresh and prepared on the premises daily.

Alamir Bakery has been providing the greater Wellington region with the best Lebanese food for close to ten years now. It is delicious, very moreish and extremely hard to stop eating once you start!
